A CURE FOR CHARLIE
A Cure for Charlie supports young Charlie Fry and other children diagnosed with SLC6A1, a rare genetic disorder that affects fewer than 500 people worldwide. This condition disrupts the brain’s GABA function and can lead to developmental delays, seizures, speech challenges, behavioral symptoms, and motor difficulties.
The foundation raises funds to advance life-changing gene-therapy research, increase awareness, and bring hope to families affected by SLC6A1. Every donation helps move closer to effective treatment—and a brighter future for children like Charlie.

The FIRE Foundation provides children with special needs the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in inclusive Catholic schools. Through scholarships, classroom resources, and specialized support services, FIRE ensures every child has access to a faith-based education alongside their peers. Their mission champions belonging, dignity, and equal opportunity for all students.

Big Slick KC is an annual celebrity-driven fundraiser founded in 2010 by Kansas City natives including Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis and Rob Riggle. It brings together their Hollywood friends, live auctions, merchandise and a major weekend event—all benefiting Children’s Mercy hospital and its pediatric cancer research efforts. To date, Big Slick has raised more than $25 million to support kids fighting cancer and improve children’s health care in the Kansas City region.
